New Roof, Etc.

This view is from the scissor lift to the northeast of the garage behind the house.

This is a view over the back side of the house looking south toward the river.

Greg and his son Jeremy by trailer.

North side of the house...Before paint.

After paint.

Now back to the front of the house.

This is the house after we are done with the shingling. It was a major job and we are glad to be done with it, and are pleased with how the house looks now.

New garage door installed.

Time to finish siding the front of the house.

The house is looking better and better...

Here is the paint 'crew' hard at work.

...she does a good job.

Inside the garage on the house. Is now a one car garage with a mudroom, office and bedroom.

This will be the guest room, I promise it will look nice when its done.

This area will be Carson's office, its looking back toward the mudroom and entrance to the main part of the house. Its bigger than it appears, well...sorta

This is how the new place looks at the end of 2009.

In the cold months ahead we hope to be working inside doing the electrical, plumbing and insulating and then get the drywall up.

Move in date: Unknown.

Split Rail Fence

We put up a split rail fence to define the circle drive in front of the house on the south side.

After split rail fence is completed.

Before split rail fence.

Shingles

At last, new shingles for the roof!

New roof

The 'crew' taking a donut break.

Dave (here on one of his many trips from MN), Carson and Greg.

Stripping the old shingles off the garage area, the previous owner did NOT attach garage to the house so it was a 'project' to prepare it for the new shingles.

A picture of the house 'before new shingles'.

End of a long tiring day...

New shingles on back side of garage, chose the Heatherblend color.

Front side of garage done. I really like the look of the shingles.

Haley Mae O'Keefe peaking through the deck railing at me. She, her mom, dad and sister Zoe stopped by to check out the new roof.

Haley going to a ride UP in the air with her dad, Brad, and Papa Carson, she is NOT afraid of heights!!!

Zoe Anne O'Keefe

Later that day help showed up to strip old shingles off the detached garage, they were a welcome sight.

Later Carson put bundles of shingles up on the roof, its ready to shingle.

One of my jobs is to pick up the trash and run magnet over ground to get nails picked up, I am sure I will have a can full when we are done. Note: most of the nails are really old and have been in the ground for years. Each time wind blows or we get rain more old nails are uncovered.
